“Prohibition Against Eating Blood”

Any man from the House of Israel who will slaughter an ox, a sheep, or a goat in the camp, or who will slaughter outside the camp,
17:3
and he has not brought it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to bring it as an offering to Hashem before the Tabernacle of Hashem – it shall be considered as bloodshed for that man, he has shed blood, and that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people.
:4
… and they shall bring them to Hashem to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to the Kohen; and they shall slaughter them as feast peace-offerings to Hashem.
:5
The Kohen shall throw the blood upon the Altar of Hashem, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting; and he shall cause the fats to go up in smoke for a satisfying aroma to Hashem.
:6
They shall no longer slaughter their offerings to the demons after whom they stray; this shall be an eternal decree to them for their generations.
:7
… Any man of the House of Israel and of the proselyte who shall dwell among you who will offer up a burnt-offering or a feast-offering,
:8
and he will not bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to perform its service to Hashem – that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people.
:9
Any man of the House of Israel and of the proselyte who dwells among them who will consume blood – I shall concentrate My attention upon the soul consuming the blood, and I will cut it off from its people.
:10
For the soul of the flesh is in the blood and I have assigned it for you upon the Altar to provide atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that atones for the soul.
:11
Any person among you may not consume blood; and the proselyte who dwells among you may not consume blood.”
:12
Any man of the Children of Israel and of the proselyte who dwells among them who will trap a beast or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth.
:13
For the life of any creature – its blood represents its life, so I say to the Children of Israel, “You shall not consume the blood of any creature; for the life of any creature is its blood, whoever consumes it will be cut off.”
:14
Any person who will eat a [bird] that died or was torn – the native or the proselyte – he shall immerse his garments and immerse himself in the water; he shall remain contaminated until evening and then become pure.
:15

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: This is the thing the Lord has commanded, saying:
3 Any man of the House of Israel, who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat inside the camp, or who slaughters outside the camp,
4 but does not bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to offer up as a sacrifice to the Lord before the Mishkan of the Lord, this [act] shall be counted for that man as blood he has shed blood, and that man shall be cut off from among his people;
5 in order that the children of Israel should bring their offerings which they slaughter on the open field, and bring them to the Lord, to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, to the kohen, and slaughter them as peace offerings to the Lord.
6 And the kohen shall dash the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and he shall cause the fat to go up in smoke, as a pleasing fragrance to the Lord.
7 And they shall no longer slaughter their sacrifices to the satyrs after which they stray. This shall be an eternal statute for them, for [all] their generations.
8 And you should say to them: Any man of the House of Israel or of the strangers who will sojourn among them, who offers up a burnt offering or [any other] sacrifice,
9 but does not bring it to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to make it [a sacrifice] to the Lord, that man shall be cut off from his people.
10 And any man of the House of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who eats any blood, I will set My attention upon the soul who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.
11 For the soul of the flesh is in the blood, and I have therefore given it to you [to be placed] upon the altar, to atone for your souls. For it is the blood that atones for the soul.
12 Therefore, I said to the children of Israel: None of you shall eat blood, and the stranger who sojourns among you shall not eat blood.
13 And any man of the children of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who traps a quarry of a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, and sheds its blood, he shall cover it [the blood] with dust.
14 For [regarding] the soul of all flesh its blood is in its soul, and I said to the children of Israel: You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the soul of any flesh is its blood all who eat it shall be cut off.
15 And any person, whether a native or a stranger, who eats carrion or what was torn, shall immerse his garments and immerse himself in the waters, and shall remain unclean until evening, and then he shall become clean.
16 But if he does not immerse [his garments] or immerse his flesh, he shall bear his sin.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
