Joshua Chapter 19

THE PROPHETS

Joshua

Yehoshua

The Book of Joshua, in the Hebrew-Jewish Bible, narrates the entry of the Children of Israel into the Promised Land of Canaan and their conquest and partition of the land under the leadership of Joshua, as Moses’ successor. It details the Israelites’ miraculous crossing of the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho, the battles of Ai and Gibeon, and the division of the land among the twelve tribes. Joshua resonates with Moses, in which he exhorts the Israelites to remain faithful to G-d and His commandments.

Chapter 19

Chapter 19 of Joshua is About the Inheritance of the Rest of the Tribes of the Children of Israel

For Most People Who Have Big Mouth In Saying, “The Land Of Israel” Is Not Of The Jews — Read!

Clearly, those are the people who do not even open the Hebrew Scripture (Old Testament) to read plainly.

They believe what they are told by people who claim superior over them — whether in the church or away from the church or any religious group.

“Simeon’s Territory”
“Zebulun’s Territory”
“Issachar’s Territory”
“Asher’s Territory”
“Naphtali’s Territory”
“Dan’s Territory”

The heritage of the children of Simeon was from the portion of the children of Judah, because the lot of the children of Judah was too large for them. Therefore, the children of Simeon received their heritage within [Judah’s] heritage.
19:9
This is the heritage of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities and their villages.
:16
The fourth lottery came out for Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
:17
This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities and their villages.
:31
This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
:39
For the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, the seventh lottery went out.
:40
The boundary of the children of Dan was not sufficient for them, …
:47
Thus they finished apportioning the land according to its borders. The Children of Israel gave a heritage to Joshua son of Nun within their midst.
:49
By the word of Hashem they gave him the city that he requested, …
:50
These are the heritages that Elazar the Kohen, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the ancestral [families] of the tribes of the Children of Israel apportioned by lottery, in Shiloh, before Hashem, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. Thus they finished dividing the land.
:51

1And the second lot came out to Simeon, to the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2And they had in their inheritance, Beer-sheba, and Sheba, and Moladah.

8And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramah of the South. This is the inheritance of the children of Simeon according to their families.
9Out of the lot of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon; for the portion of the children of Judah was too much for them; therefore the children of Simeon inherited in the midst of their inheritance.
10And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families; and the border of their inheritance was to Sarid.
11And their border went up to the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbesheth, and reached the river that is before Jokneam;
12And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising on the border of Chisloth-tabor, and it went out to Dabrath, and went to Japhia;
13And from there it passed along on the east of Gath-hepher, to Ittah-kazzin, and it went out to Rimmon, and from there circled to Neah;
14And the border about it on the north side of Hannathon; and its outgoings were in the valley of Jiphthah-el;
15And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Beth-lehem; twelve cities with their villages.
16This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17The fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
18And their border was Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
19And Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath.
20And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Ebez,
21And Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;
22And the border met in Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan; sixteen cities with their villages.
23This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24And the fifth lot went out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
25And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph.
26And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and it met in Carmel westward, and in Shihor-libnath;
27And it turned toward the sunrising to Beth-dagon, and met in Zebulun, and in the valley of Jiphtah-el toward the north side of Beth-emek, and Neiel, and it went out to Babul on the left,
28And Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, to great Zidon;
29And the border turned to Ramah, and to the fortress city of the rock; and the border turned to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof were to the sea from the lot of Achzib.
30Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob; twenty-two cities with their villages.
31This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
33And their border was from Heleph, from Elon-bezaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, to Lakum; and its outgoings were at the Jordan;
34And the border turned westward to Aznoth- tabor, and went out from there to Hukkok, and met in Zebulun on the south, and met in Asher on the west, and in Judah at the Jordan toward the sunrising.
35And the fortress cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth.
36And Adamah, and Haramah, and Hazor.
37And Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-hazor.
38And Iron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-‘anath and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
39This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
40And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.

46And Me-Jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border opposite Joppa.
47And the border of the children of Dan went out from them; and the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt in it, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49And they made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by its borders; the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them.
50According to the word of the Lord they gave him the city which he asked, Timnath-serah in Mount Ephraim; and he built the city and dwelt in it.
51These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the (houses of) the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And they made an end of dividing the land.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
