THE PROPHETS
Joshua
Yehoshua
The Book of Joshua, in the Hebrew-Jewish Bible, narrates the entry of the Children of Israel into the Promised Land of Canaan and their conquest and partition of the land under the leadership of Joshua, as Moses’ successor. It details the Israelites’ miraculous crossing of the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho, the battles of Ai and Gibeon, and the division of the land among the twelve tribes. Joshua resonates with Moses, in which he exhorts the Israelites to remain faithful to G-d and His commandments.
Chapter One
Joshua Chapter One Starts with What G-d Commanded and a Reminder Not to Twist and Turn it
Joshua being loyal to Moses in serving G-d, Joshua takes on the responsibility to be the leader of the Children of Israel as G-d appointed him through Moses.
G-d Said. And That’s It.
No one can twist and turn it to a different shape or form.
G-d the son. Roman Soldiers. Cross. Calvary. All these are never part of G-d’s commandment or utterances.

“Moses My servant has died. Now, arise, cross this Jordan, you and this entire people, to the land that I give to them, to the Children of Israel.
1:2
No man will stand up to you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses so will I be with you; I will not release you nor will I forsake you.
:5
Be strong and courageous for it is you who will cause this people to inherit the Land that I have sworn to their fathers to give them.
:6
Only be very strong and courageous, to observe, to do, according to the entire Torah that Moses My servant commanded you; do not deviate from it to the right or to the left, in order that you may succeed wherever you will go.
:7
This Book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth; rather you should contemplate it day and night in order that you observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way successful, and then you will act wisely.
:8
Behold, I have commanded you, ‘Be strong and courageous,’ do not fear and do not lose resolve, for Hashem, your God, is with you wherever you will go.”
:9
They answered Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and whatever you send us we will go.
:16
As fully as we heeded Moses, so shall we heed you, provided that Hashem, your God, is with you as He was with Moses!
:17
1 And it was after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying:
2 Moses my servant has died; and now arise cross this Jordan, you and all this nation, to the land which I give the children of Israel.
3 Every place on which the soles of your feet will tread I have given to you, as I have spoken to Moses.
4 From this desert and Lebanon to the great river, the Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the great sea westward shall be your boundary.
5 No man shall stand up before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so shall I be with you. I will not weaken My grasp on you nor will I abandon you.
6 Be strong and have courage; for you will cause this nation to inherit the land that I have sworn to their ancestors to give to them.
7 Just be strong and very courageous to observe and do in accordance with all of the Torah that Moses My servant has commanded you. Do not stray therefrom right or left, in order that you succeed wherever you go.
8 This book of the Torah shall not leave your mouth; you shall meditate therein day and night, in order that you observe to do all that is written in it, for then will you succeed in all your ways and then will you prosper.
9 Did I not command you, be strong and have courage, do not fear and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
10 And Joshua commanded the officers of the nation, saying:
11 Go through the midst of the camp and command the nation saying: Prepare provision for yourselves, for in another three days you will cross this Jordan to come and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you to inherit.
12 And to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said, saying:
13 Remember the word that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you saying: The Lord your God is giving you rest and has given you this land.
14 Your wives, your children, and your cattle shall settle in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan, and you, all the warriors, shall cross over armed before your brothers, and you shall help them.
15 Until the Lord gives your brothers rest as He has given you, and they too shall inherit the land that the Lord your God gives them. You will then return to the land of your inheritance which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on this side of the Jordan towards the rising of the sun, and you will inherit it.
16 And they answered Joshua saying: All that you have commanded us we shall do and wherever you send us we shall go.
17 Just as we obeyed Moses in everything, so shall we obey you. Only that the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses.
18 Every man that shall rebel against your words and will not listen to your commands in all that you order him shall be put to death. Only be strong and have courage.
