Job Chapter 27

JOB

ONE CHAPTER A DAY

On Daily Holy Bible Reading

IYOV

The Book of Iyov (Job) in the Hebrew Bible.

Right at the heart of the age-old question: Why do bad people prosper while good people suffer?

This is a clear test of one’s worth to be blessed by G-d.

The book begs the question WHY?

Job’s Loyalty To G-d In His Righteousness

For the wicked, there is no hope.

He may have as much gains or wealth in his lifetime. But none can save his soul in the end.

The cry of the wicked is never heard by G-d. Unless he genuinely repents.

Believing in Jesus, and you are saved is nowhere found in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Thus, is falsehood, and clearly man-made.

“The Futility Of The Wicked”

As God lives, [I swear that] He has removed justice from me, and the Almighty has embittered my soul.
27:2
But as long as my soul is within me and the spirit of God is in my nostrils, my lips shall not speak iniquity and my tongue shall not utter deceit.
:3-4
For what is the hypocrite’s hope though he gains profit, for surely God will cast away his soul?
:8
Will God heed his cry when misfortune befalls him?
:9
Can he delight in the Almighty, calling on God at all times?
:10
Behold, all of you have seen it, so why is it that you embrace folly?
:12
Though he may amass money like dirt and prepare a wardrobe as [abundant as] clay,
:16
he may prepare, but a righteous man will wear it, and a virtuous man will apportion his money.
:17
… [when] he opens his eyes, it is gone.
:19
He casts misfortune upon him, and will not show mercy; from His hand he desperately flees.
:22

1 Then Job again took up his parable and said,
2 “As God lives, Who has taken away my right, and the Almighty has embittered my soul.
3 For as long as my soul is within me and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,
4 my lips will speak no injustice and my tongue will utter no deceit.
5 Far be it from me that I should justify you; until I die, I will not give up my innocence.
6 I have maintained my righteousness, and I will not let it go; my heart will not reproach [me] because of my days.
7 My enemy shall be like a wicked man and he who rises up against me like an unjust one.
8 For what is the hope of a flatterer who robs, when God casts off his soul?
9 Will God hearken to his cry when trouble befalls him?
10 Or will he delight with the Almighty? Will he call God at all times?
11 I will instruct you [what is] in God’s hand; what is with the Almighty I will not conceal.
12 Behold all of you have seen; now why do you become altogether vain?
13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the inheritance of the powerful, which they receive from the Almighty.
14 If his sons increase, they will be for the sword, and his grandchildren will not be sated with bread.
15 His survivors will be buried in death, and his widows will not weep.
16 If he gathers money like dust and prepares clothing like clay,
17 he will prepare, and a righteous man will wear [them], and He will distribute [his] money to the innocent.
18 He builds his house as a moth, and as a booth that a watchman made.
19 He dies rich and will not be gathered in; he opened his eyes and he is not here.
20 Terrors shall overtake him like water; at night a tempest snatches him away.
21 The east wind carries him off and he goes away, and it sweeps him out of his place.
22 And he will cast upon him and not have compassion; from his hand he will flee.
23 They clap their hands over them, and those of his place hiss over him.

Divine wisdom or Divine justice may not be evident during the test with hardship and suffering. But, full trust in G-d is the best response no matter how difficult the situation may be or become.
