Jeremiah Chapter 45 Reminds You to Give Thanks Rather Than to Complain or Ask for More

Being Grateful

Be reminded to be grateful of what you have; rather than to keep looking at others or constantly wanting for more…

“Prophecy To Baruch”

Say thus to him: Thus said Hashem: Behold, that which I built I am destroying, and that which I have planted I am uprooting, and this is so throughout all the land;
45:4
yet you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek [them]! For behold, I am bringing misfortune upon all flesh — the word of Hashem — and I will give you your soul as booty, in all the places where you go.”
:5

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah when he wrote these words on a scroll from the mouth of Jeremiah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:
2 So said the Lord God of Israel concerning you, Baruch:
3 You said, “Woe is to me now, for the Lord has added grief to my pain. I have become weary with my sighing, but I have found no rest.”
4 So shall you say to him, So said the Lord: Behold what I have built I will tear down, and what I planted I will uproot, and it is all the land.
5 And you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek, for behold I am bringing evil upon all flesh, says the Lord, and I will give you your soul as prey in all the places where you will go.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
