THE PROPHETS
JEREMIAH
YIRMIYAHU
The prophecies of the prophet Jeremiah, who lived during the 7th century BCE. The book addresses various themes, including the judgment of G-d upon Israel and other nations, the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the Babylonian exile, and the restoration of Israel. Jeremiah (Yirmiyahu in Hebrew) is known as “The suffering or lamenting prophet,” for his emotional and passionate prophecies, and his book accounts the tragic details as it happens right before his eyes in his lifetime.
Chapter 26
Jeremiah Chapter 26 Teaches as Clear as Daylight on G-d’s Word to Make Sure that those Contrary are False
Take Heed To What G-d Said Not The Opposite
Do not omit a word from it.
There is no place in the Hebrew Scripture (Old Testament) did G-d ever said that His commandments or laws are temporary. Neither is there any prophet prophesied that in the future it will no longer apply.
From this you know who are the false prophets, and there are many in the Greek book – New Testament (if not all).
“Prophecy In The Temple Courtyard”
“Priests And False Prophets”
“Contention”
Thus said Hashem: “Stand in the Courtyard of the Temple of Hashem and speak to all the cities of Judah who come to prostrate themselves in the Temple of Hashem all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not omit a word.
26:2
Perhaps they will listen and repent, each man from his evil way, then I will relent of the evil that I am planning to do to them because of the wickedness of their deeds.
26:3
Say to them: Thus said Hashem: If you do not listen to Me, to follow My Torah that I have placed before you, to listen to the words of My servants the prophets whom I send to you, sending them from early [morning] — but you did not listen.
:4-5
… the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying “You shall die!
:8
Why have you prophesied in the Name of Hashem, saying, ‘This Temple will be like Shiloh, and this city will be destroyed, without an inhabitant’?” …
:9
The priests and the prophets said to the officers and to all the people, saying, “A death judgment should be upon this man, for he has prophesied against this city as you have heard with your own ears.”
:11
Jeremiah said to all the ministers and all the people, saying, “Hashem has sent me to prophesy about this Temple and about this city all the things that you have heard.
:12
So now, correct your ways and your deeds and heed the voice of Hashem your God, and Hashem will relent of the evil that He has spoken about you.
:13
… for in truth Hashem sent me to you to speak all things in your ears.”
:15
The ministers and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets, “This man does not deserve death judgment, for he has spoken to us in the Name of Hashem our God!”
:16
However, the power of Ahikam son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, not to deliver him into the hand of the people to kill him.
:24
1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, this word came from the Lord, saying:
2 So said the Lord: Stand in the court of the house of the Lord, and you shall speak to all the cities of Judah that come to prostrate themselves in the house of the Lord, all the words that I have commanded you to speak to them; do not omit a word.
3 Perhaps they will heed and repent, each one of his evil way, and I will repent of the evil that I think to do to them because of the evil of their deeds.
4 And you shall say to them: So said the Lord, If you do not heed Me to walk in My law that I have placed before you,
5 To heed the words of My servants, the prophets, whom I send to you betimes, and you did not heed.
6 I will make this house like Shiloh and this city I will make into a curse to all the nations of the earth.
7 And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord.
8 And it came to pass when Jeremiah finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests, the prophets, and all the people seized him, saying, “You shall surely die.
9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant’?” And all the people congregated upon Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.
10 And the princes of Judah heard these words and went up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord, and they sat at the entrance of the new gate of the Lord.
11 And the priests and the prophets said to the princes and to all the people, saying, “This man is liable to death, for he prophesied concerning this city, as you have heard with your ears. “
12 And Jeremiah said to all the princes and to all the people saying, “The Lord sent me to prophesy concerning this house and concerning this city all the words that you have heard.
13 And now, mend your ways and your deeds and heed the Lord your God, and the Lord will renounce the evil that He has spoken concerning you.
14 As for me, behold I am in your hands; do to me what you deem good and proper.
15 But you should know that if you put me to death, that you are bringing innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and upon its inhabitants, for indeed God sent me concerning you, to speak into your ears all these words.”
16 And the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets, “This man is not liable to the death sentence, for he spoke to us in the name of the Lord our God.”
17 Then certain of the elders of the land rose and said to all the congregation of the people, saying:
18 Micah the Morashtite was prophesying in the days of Hezekiah the king of Judah, saying: So said the Lord of Hosts: Zion shall be plowed for a field, and Jerusalem shall be heaps, and the Temple Mount as the high places of a forest.
19 Did Hezekiah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord? And he entreated the Lord, and the Lord renounced the evil that He had spoken concerning them. But we are doing great harm to ourselves.
20 Also a man was prophesying in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath-jearim, and he prophesied concerning this city and concerning this land, like all the words of Jeremiah.
21 And King Jehoiakim and all his mighty warriors and all the princes heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death, and Uriah heard and he was afraid, and he fled and came to Egypt.
22 And King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt, Elnathan son of Achbor and men with him to Egypt.
23 And they took Uriah out of Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, and he struck him with the sword and cast his corpse into the graves of the common people.
24 But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, not to deliver him into the hand[s] of the people to put him to death.
