Jeremiah Chapter 21

THE PROPHETS

JEREMIAH

YIRMIYAHU

The prophecies of the prophet Jeremiah, who lived during the 7th century BCE. The book addresses various themes, including the judgment of G-d upon Israel and other nations, the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the Babylonian exile, and the restoration of Israel. Jeremiah (Yirmiyahu in Hebrew) is known as “The suffering or lamenting prophet,” for his emotional and passionate prophecies, and his book accounts the tragic details as it happens right before his eyes in his lifetime.

Jeremiah Chapter 21 on Your Deeds and Not Faith Alone Decides G-d’s Blessing or Wrath as You Deserve It

Jeremiah on Ignorance Of Law Is No Excuse

The truth behind Christianity is mainly this.

For it teaches that Christ (Jesus) paid it all on the cross.

Such nonsense do not exist in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament).

G-d’s Commandment was given and taught only in the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy).

Thus, if there is new teaching after it, is not true.

“G-d Is On The Side Of The Enemies”

“Recollection Of Sins”

“Please inquire of Hashem on our behalf, for Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylonia, is making war against us; perhaps Hashem will act toward us in accordance with all of His [past] wonders, and [the king] will withdraw from us.”
21:2
“Thus said Hashem, God of Israel: Behold, I am turning about the weapons in your hands, with which you [presume to] fight the king of Babylonia and the Chaldeans who are besieging you from outside the wall, and I shall gather [the invader] into this city.
:4
I shall strike down the inhabitants of this city — the people and the animals; they will all die in a great pestilence.
:6
Whoever remains in this city will die by the sword or by famine or by pestilence; but whoever leaves and surrenders to the Chaldeans who are besieging you will live, and his life will be his spoils.
:9
For I have directed My attention to this city, for evil and not for good — the word of Hashem — and it shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylonia, and he will burn it down in fire.”
:10
… due to the wickedness of your deeds.
:12
I shall repay you according to the fruits of your deeds — the word of Hashem — …
:14

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord when King Zedekiah sent him Pashhur son of Milchiah and Zephaniah son of Maasiah the priest, saying:
2 Please petition the Lord for us, for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon is waging war against us; perhaps the Lord will do to us like all His wonders, and he will withdraw from us.”
3 And Jeremiah said to them, “So shall you say to Zedekiah,
4 So said the Lord God of Israel; Behold I turn back the weapons of war that are in your hand[s], with which you are waging war against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you from outside the wall, and I will gather them into this city.
5 And I will wage war with you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, and with anger and with fury and with great wrath.
6 And I will smite the inhabitants of this city and the people and the beasts; with a great pestilence they shall die.
7 And afterwards, says the Lord, I will deliver Zedekiah, the king of Judah and his servants and the people and those remaining in this city, from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar, the king of Babylon and into the hand of your enemies and into the hand of those who seek your lives, and he shall strike them by the edge of the sword; he will not spare them, neither will he pity nor show compassion.
8 And to this people you shall say; So said the Lord: Behold I place before you the way of life and the way of death.
9 Whoever abides in this city shall die by the sword or by famine or by pestilence, but whoever goes forth and defects to the Chaldeans who are besieging you, shall live, and he will have his life as a prey.
10 For I have set My anger against this city for evil and not for good, says the Lord; it shall be delivered into the hand[s] of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
11 And to the house of the king of Judah: Hear the word of the Lord.
12 O house of David, so said the Lord: Execute justice in the morning and rescue the robbed from the hand of the robber, lest My fury go forth like fire, and it burn with no one to extinguish [it], because of the evil of your deeds.
13 Behold I am against you, O dweller of the valley, rock of the plain, says the Lord, those who say, “Who will encamp upon us, and who will come into our dwellings?”
14 And I will visit upon you according to the fruit of your deeds, says the Lord, and I will ignite a fire in her forest, and it will consume all her surroundings.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
