Chapter 11

Jeremiah Chapter 11 Warns Against Disobedience Insisting to Follow and Do What is Falsehood that Angers G-d

What Does The Greek Book – New Testament Says About G-d’s Commandment/Covenant?

Not to obey (i.e. Galatians, Hebrews & others of Paul in particular)!

Now, read this chapter to find out the consequences of disobedience.

“Obey The Covenant… Or It Will Go Against You!

Say to them: Thus said Hashem, God of Israel: Cursed is the man who will not listen to the words of this covenant that I commanded your forefathers on the day I took them out from the land of Egypt, from the iron crucible, saying: Listen to My voice and fulfill [the commandments], according to all that I command you, so that you will be a people for Me and I will be a God for you,
11:3-4
in order to fulfill the oath that I swore to your forefathers to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as this very day. And I responded, saying, “Amen, Hashem.”
:5
… Hear the words of this covenant and fulfill them.
:6
For I have repeatedly warned your forefathers on the day I brought them up from the land of Egypt, and until this very day, arising early and warning [them], saying: ‘Listen to My voice!’
:7
But they did not listen and did not incline their ear, and each man went after the vision of his evil heart; so I brought upon them all the words of this covenant that I have commanded them to fulfill, but they did not fulfill.”
:8
They reverted to the sins of their forefathers, the earlier ones, who refused to listen to My words, and they followed the gods of others to worship them; the House of Israel and the House of Judah have abrogated My covenant that I sealed with their forefathers.
:10
Therefore, thus said Hashem: Behold, I bring against them an evil from which they will not be able to escape; and they will cry out to Me, but I will not listen to them.
:11
For the number of your cities was [the number of] your gods, O Judah, and like the number of streets in Jerusalem have you made altars to the shameful idol — altars to sacrifice to the Baal.
:13
As for you [Jeremiah]: Do not pray for this people, and do not raise [your voice] in outcry and prayer on their behalf, for I do not listen when they call to Me because of their misfortune.
:14
… When you do evil, only then do you rejoice!
:15
And Hashem, Master of Legions, the One Who planted you, has declared evil upon you, because of the evil of the House of Israel and the House of Judah, which they committed in order to anger Me, by sacrificing to the Baal.”
:17
Hashem informed me, so I would know — then You showed me their deeds.
:18
But Hashem, Master of Legions, righteous Judge, Who examines innermost thoughts and feelings, let me see Your vengeance against them, for I have revealed my grievance to You,
:20

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, to say;
2 Hearken to the words of this covenant, and you shall speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
3 And you shall say to them, so said the Lord God of Israel; Cursed be the man who will not hearken to the words of this covenant,
4 Which I commanded your forefathers on the day I took them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying: Hearken to My voice and do them, according to all that I will command you, and you shall be to Me for a people, and I will be to you for a God.
5 In order to establish the oath that I swore to your forefathers to give them a land flowing with milk and honey as of this day. And I replied and said, “Amen, O Lord.”
6 And the Lord said to me; Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hearken to the words of this covenant and you shall do them.
7 For I warned your forefathers on the day I brought them up from the land of Egypt until this day, warning early every morning, saying: Hearken to My voice.
8 But they did not hearken, neither did they bend their ears, and they went, each man according to the view of his evil heart, and I brought upon them all the words of this covenant that I commanded to do, and they did not do.
9 And the Lord said to me; A conspiracy has been found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10 They have returned to the iniquities of their first forefathers, who refused to hearken to My words, and they followed other gods to worship them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah broke My covenant that I made with their forefathers.
11 Therefore, so says the Lord: Behold, I bring upon them evil which they shall be unable to escape, and, although they shall cry out to Me, I will not heed them.
12 And they shall go [from] the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and cry out to the gods to whom they burn incense, and they shall not save them at the time of their misfortune.
13 For as many as your cities were your gods, O Judah, and as many as the streets of Jerusalem you have made altars for the shameful thing, altars to burn incense for the Baal.
14 And you, do not pray for this people, neither shall you lift up cry nor prayer, for I do not hearken at the time they call out to Me because of their misfortune.
15 What has My beloved to do in My house, [seeing that] the many perform evil design, and the holy flesh they remove from you, for [with] your evil then you rejoice.
16 A leafy olive-tree fair with goodly fruit, has the Lord called your name; to the sound of a great tumult, He has kindled fire upon it, and they have broken its branches.
17 And the Lord of Hosts Who planted you spoke evil concerning you, about the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, which they did to them to provoke Me, to burn sacrifices to Baal.
18 And the Lord let me know, and I knew, then You showed me their deeds.
19 And I was like a lamb and a bull, [that is] brought to the slaughter, and I did not know that they had devised plans about me, “Let us destroy his food with wood, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, and let his name no longer be remembered.”
20 And the Lord of Hosts is a just Judge, Who searches the kidneys and the heart, “Let me see Your vengeance against them, for to You, I have revealed my cause.
21 Therefore, so says the Lord of Hosts concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, “You shall not prophesy in the name of the Lord, and you shall not die by our hand.”
22 Therefore, so says the Lord of Hosts: Behold, I will visit retribution upon them; the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and daughters shall die through hunger.
23 And they shall have no remnant, for I will bring misfortune upon the men of Anathoth in the year of their remembrance.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
