Hosea Chapter 7 One Sin after Another by Not Turning to the One True G-d

Hosea, … They Have Spoken Lies About Me

This is what happens when you pay a lot of attention to your church founder, religious leader or preacher on things that G-d never said neither commanded.

Lies, vanities, falsehood and idol worship are all products of such practice.

“Big Time Falsehood”

When I would have healed Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim became revealed, along with the evils of Samaria; for they have wrought falsehood — …
7:1
They have all become heated like an oven and they have devoured their judges; all their kings have fallen, [yet] no one among them calls out to Me.
:7
Ephraim will be intermingled with the nations. Ephraim was like a cake that was not turned over.
:8
The glory of Israel was humbled before him, but they did not turn back to Hashem their God and they did not seek Him despite all this.
:10
Woe to them for they have moved away from Me; plunder upon them for they have rebelled against Me. I would redeem them, but they have spoken lies about Me.
:13
They did not cry out to Me in their hearts when they wailed on their beds. They gather together for grain and wine, yet they turn away from Me.
:14
As for Me, I afflicted [them; I] strengthened their arms, but they think evil of Me.
:15
They turn, but not to the One above; …
:16

1 When I would heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim and the evils of Samaria are revealed, for they commit falsehood, and a thief comes, and a troop makes a raid without.
2 They do not say in their heart that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds have surrounded them; they were before My face.
3 With their evil, they make the king glad, and with their lies, princes.
4 They are all adulterers like an oven heated by the baker; the arouser rests from kneading the dough until it leavens.
5 The day of our king, the princes became ill from the heat of the wine; he withdrew his hand with the scorners.
6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven with their ambush; all night their baker sleeps, in the morning he burns like a flaming fire.
7 They are all heated like an oven and they devour their judges; all their kings have fallen, none of them calls to Me.
8 Ephraim mingles with the peoples; Ephraim was as a cake which was not turned over.
9 Strangers have consumed his strength, but he did not know; also weakness was cast into him, but he did not know.
10 And the pride of Israel was humbled before him, and they did not return to the Lord their God, and did not seek Him despite this.
11 And Ephraim was like a silly dove without a heart; they called upon Egypt, they went to Assyria.
12 When they go, I will spread My net over them; like the fowl of the heaven I will bring them down. I will chastise them as I let their congregation hear.
13 Woe is to them for they have wandered away from Me; plunder to them for they have rebelled against Me. I would redeem them, but they spoke lies about Me.
14 And they did not cry out to Me with their heart, therefore they will wail on their beds; because of the corn and the wine which they store up, they turn away from Me.
15 But I chastised them, I strengthened their arms, yet to Me they attribute evil.
16 They will return, but to no avail; they were like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword, from the fury of their tongue. This is their derision in the land of Egypt.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
