Ezekiel Chapter 19 on G-d’s Sovereign Moves on His People and the Affairs of the World

Ezekiel On Prophecy About G-d’s People And Its Young Kings

If you cannot understand how G-d runs the world, here’s a picture of it in a form of animals or plants

Hence, there is no excuse in the end of not serving, obeying, worshiping, loving Hashem with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your resources.

“A Lioness And Her Cubs — Israel And Its Young Kings”

Now take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, and say: Oh, how your mother was a lioness, crouching among lions, rearing her cubs among young lions.
19:1-2
She saw herself disillusioned, her hope was lost; so she took another one of her cubs and made him into a young lion.
:5
You are likened to one whose mother was a vine planted by waters, that was fruitful and full-branched from the abundant waters.
:10

1 And you, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel.
2 And you shall say; How was your mother a lioness! Among the lions she couched; amidst young lions she reared her cubs.
3 And she raised up one of her cubs; he was a young lion; he learned to attack prey; he devoured men.
4 Nations gathered around him: in their pit he was caught, and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.
5 Now she saw that she had taken ill; her hope was lost, and she took one of her cubs and made him a young lion.
6 Now he walked among the lions-he was a young lion- and he learned to attack prey; he devoured men.
7 And he was intimate with their widows, and their cities he laid waste; and the land and the fullness thereof became desolate from the sound of his roar.
8 And nations gathered around against him from provinces, and they spread their net upon him: he was caught in their pit.
9 And they put him into a collar, with hooks, and they brought him to the king of Babylon; they brought him into strongholds in order that his voice no longer be heard on the mountains of Israel.
10 Your mother is like a vine in your likeness, planted by the water, fruitful and full of branches; it resulted from many waters.
11 And it had sturdy rods for the scepters of the rulers, and its height was raised over between the interwoven branches, and it could be seen because of its height with its many tendrils.
12 And it was scattered with fury; to the ground it was cast, and the east wind dried up its fruit; they were broken and withered; its sturdy rod-fire devoured it.
13 And now it is planted in the desert, in a desolate and thirsty land.
14 And fire came out of the staff of its sturdy branches [and] devoured its fruit, and in it was no sturdy rod or scepter to rule. It is a lamentation, and it will be a lamentation.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
