Chapter 18

Chapter 18 of Deuteronomy Highlights Consistency with G-d’s Commandments Not Teaching Anything New as True No Adding Removing or Turning Right or Left But Obedience with a Wholeheart

It Is Very Important To Learn In This Chapter On Matters Of “False Prophet”

Verse 20 states, the prophet that speak in G-d’s Name, that which He has not commanded to speak must die!

Application:

Each time you are taught of this and that teachings from the Greek book – New Testament, simply ask yourself, “Where did G-d commanded or spoken of it?”
*The list is long from the New Testament alone.
1. The Son of G-d is Israel; not Jesus (Exo. 4:22 & Hosea 11:1)

“Priestly Gifts”
“Prophecy”
“G-d Sends His Prophets to Israel”

There shall not be for the Kohanim, the Levites – the entire tribe of Levi – a portion and an inheritance with Israel; the fire-offerings of Hashem and His inheritance shall they eat.
18:1
He shall not have an inheritance among his brethren; Hashem is his inheritance, as He spoken to him.
:2
The first of your grain, wine, and oil, and the first of the shearing of your flock shall you give him.
:4
For him has Hashem chosen from among all your tribes, to stand and minister in the Name of Hashem, him and his sons, all the days.
:5
When you come to the Land that Hashem, your God, gives you, you shall not learn to act according to the abominations of those nations.
:9
There shall not be found among you one who causes his son or daughter to pass through fire, one who practices divinations, an astrologer, one who reads omens, a sorcerer;
:10
or an animal charmer, one who inquires of Ov or Yidoni, or one who consults the dead.
:11
for anyone who does these is an abomination of Hashem, and because of these abominations Hashem, your God, banishes [the nations] from before you.
:12
You shall be wholehearted with Hashem, your God.
:13
For these nations that you are possessing – they hearken to astrologers and diviner; but as for you – not so has Hashem, your God, given for you.
:14
A prophet from your midst, from your brethren, like me, shall Hashem, your God, establish for you – to him shall you hearken.
:15
I will establish a prophet for them from among their brethren, like you, and I will place My words in his mouth; He shall speak to them everything that I will command him.
:18
But the prophet who willfully shall speak a word in My Name, that which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of the gods of others – that prophet shall die.
:20
if the prophet will speak in the Name of Hashem and that thing will not occur and not come about – that is the word that Hashem has not spoken, with willfulness has the prophet spoken it, you should not fear him.
:22

1 The Levitic kohanim, the entire tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; the Lord’s fire offerings and His inheritance they shall eat.
2 But he shall have no inheritance among his brothers; the Lord is his inheritance, as He spoke to him.
3 And this shall be the kohanim’s due from the people, from those who perform a slaughter, be it an ox or a sheep, he shall give the kohen the foreleg, the jaws, and the maw.
4 The first of your grain, your wine, and your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.
5 For the Lord, your God, has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand and serve in the name of the Lord, he and his sons, all the days.
6 And if a Levite comes from one of your cities out of all Israel where he sojourns, he may come whenever his soul desires, to the place the Lord will choose,
7 and he may serve in the name of the Lord, his God, just like all his Levite brothers, who stand there before the Lord.
8 They shall eat equal portions, except what was sold by the forefathers.
9 When you have come to the land the Lord, your God, is giving you, you shall not learn to do like the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you anyone who passes his son or daughter through fire, a soothsayer, a diviner of [auspicious] times, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
11 or a charmer, a pithom sorcerer, a yido’a sorcerer, or a necromancer.
12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations, the Lord, your God is driving them out from before you.
13 Be wholehearted with the Lord, your God.
14 For these nations, which you are to possess, hearken to diviners of [auspicious] times and soothsayers, but as for you, the Lord, your God, has not given you [things] like these.
15 A prophet from among you, from your brothers, like me, the Lord, your God will set up for you; you shall hearken to him.
16 According to all that you asked of the Lord, your God, in Horeb, on the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not continue to hear the voice of the Lord, my God, and let me no longer see this great fire, so that I will not die.”
17 And the Lord said to me, “They have done well in what they have spoken.
18 I will set up a prophet for them from among their brothers like you, and I will put My words into his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him.
19 And it will be, that whoever does not hearken to My words that he speaks in My name, I will exact [it] of him.
20 But the prophet who intentionally speaks a word in My name, which I did not command him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
21 Now if you say to yourself, “How will we know the word that the Lord did not speak?”
22 If the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not occur and does not come about, that is the thing the Lord did not speak. The prophet has spoken it wantonly; you shall not be afraid of him.

Bible reading in the form of Scripture in pictures can have a profound impact on those who may have never read a chapter in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Viewing pivotal verses in a visual context can deepen one’s understanding of the text and provide a unique perspective. The images may help to illustrate important themes and messages that may not have been as easily grasped through standard reading. Additionally, this method can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with traditional reading methods or for those who are more visually inclined. The power of visual storytelling has been utilized for centuries, and when paired with the timeless words of Scripture, it has the potential to bring new life and meaning to the ancient text. Ultimately, whatever method one chooses to engage with the Bible, the most important thing is to seek a deeper understanding of God’s word, and to apply it to our lives in a meaningful way.
